Enterprise 2.0, or Enterprise Web2.0, is the use of freeform social software within an organisation.

One of my favourute descriptions of Enterprise 2.0 is from Andrew P. McAfee of Harvard Business School refering to an emergent collaboration article:

e2 is short for Enterprise2.0.

Enterprise2.0 is the use of web2.0 tools in the corporate environment. So simply that means things like blogs and wiki's in organisations.

There have already been many examples of how using these often free tools have transformed the way companies work and share information. There's a great example where a German investment bank reduced it's email traffic by 70% just by using wiki's as a cornerstone of their knowledge sharing strategy.
